Run Graphical Programs on your home machine over the network

These instructions will show how it is possible to run any program on the Lab computers (Weniger 412 and 497), from a Windows based computer with a high speed internet connection.

Requirements:

Microsoft Windows (XP, 2000, NT, 98, ME,  there is no support for Vista or 95)
CD-ROM drive
Broadband internet connection (at least 1.5 Mb/sec DSL or higher)

This information is more or less just reprinted from:
http://xlivecd.indiana.edu/

If you already have Cygwin installed, this CD may not work.  Instead, use the cygwin installation.

Instructions:

1.  Download the CD image and burn to disk.

Here is a list of locations to download the CD iso image:
It doesn't matter which one is used, pick one close for faster speed.

To burn to disk, you must use a program cabable of burning an iso image.  Windows alone will not be able to do this.  You must use a program such as Nero, Roxio Easy CD Creator, or similar program.  Read your programs instructions on how to burn an iso image.

If you do not have a program to do the burning, check with me and if you get me a blank disk, I can burn a copy for you.

Below is the instructions from the website referenced above copy & pasted.
