Current undergraduate students in Computational Physics, Engineering Physics, and Physics are eligible for several scholarships, either administered through the College or the Department. Typically, application deadlines are in Winter term, with awards being announced in Spring term. If you are registered as an undergraduate student in the Department of Physics, you will receive reminders via e-mail.
The Department of Physics offers the following scholarships:
The Nicodemus Memorial Scholarship.
Established by the family of David Nicodemus, a former Physics Professor and Dean of Faculty. He retired in 1986, and was recognized for his inspiration and dedication to students and colleagues. Supports undergraduate scholarships in Computational Physics, Engineering Physics, and Physics.
The Physics Undergraduate Scholarship.
Supports undergraduate scholarships in Computational Physics, Engineering Physics, and Physics.
The Kenneth S. Krane Scholarship.
Established by the family and friends of Ken Krane to recognize his contributions as Chair of Physics from 1984-1998, and particularly his advancement of the cause of women in physics. This supports scholarships for undergraduates in Computational Physics and Physics.
In addition, students who apply are eligble for scholarships administered in the College they belong to. Both the College of Science and the College of Engineering have special awards for top students. In addition, undergraduate students in Computational Physics and Physics are eligible for the Paul Copson Memorial Scholarship. Undergraduate students in Engineering Physics are eligible for the Gleeson Scholarship.
