The Physics Department at Oregon State University invites applications for a full time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated start date of Sept 16, 2012. We are looking for individuals with a strong background and future research plans to expand our Physics Education Research Group. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or a related area. Oregon State U. is engaged in a major hiring initiative to enhance the disciplinary-based and education-based synergy of STEM education research in life-long learning, K-12 education, transition to college, lower and upper-division university education. Six tenure-line faculty positions in addition to a full-time, permanent director of the new Center for Research in Lifelong STEM Learning [1] are advertised for the 2012-2013 academic year with a tenure home in the College of Science, Education, or Engineering. The new Center works closely with our Center for Teaching and Learning [2] and Technology Across the Curriculum office [3] to promote best practices. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong interest in doing collaborative research in this setting, and within the broader education community.
