2013 May 28	Congratulations to Michael Paul, who was awarded a Whiteley Fellowship in Material Sciences for the Summer of 2013.
2013 Apr 16	Paho Lurie-Gregg received a 2013 URISC award for his proposal "Hard Polyhedra Fluids”. He will do computational research with David Roundy this summer. Congratulations!
2013 Apr 7	Congratulations for Prof. Cecilia Bitz, who won the 2013 University of Miami Rosenstiel Award, one of the School's top honors. Dr. Bitz, an associate professor in the Atmospheric Sciences Department at University of Washington, is the 39th recipient of the Rosenstiel Award. Her work focuses on climate and climate change in the high latitudes, especially involving the cryosphere (areas of the Earth covered in the many forms of snow and ice). Dr. Bitz uses a variety of models for her research, from simple, reduced complexity models to sophisticated Earth-system models. Prof. Bitz received her BS in Engineering Physics from OSU in 1988.

2012 Dec 18	Congratulations to Daniel Gruss, who was awarded a grant in support of his research by the Sigma Xi Committee on Grants-in-Aid of Research! The title of his proposed work is "Entanglement and correlations in transport: From nanoscale electronics to cold atoms."

The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding scholarship in science by honoring a young faculty member in the College of Science.
2008 Jul 31	Congratulations to Prof. Corinne Manogue, who is this year's recipient of the university-wide Richard M. Bressler Senior Faculty Teaching Award, which rewards faculty who have demonstrated a major commitment to undergraduate instruction at OSU over an extended period of time. Corinne will receive the award at a special event on September 17 and will also be recognized at the University Day celebrations on September 18.

2006 Dec 27	Congratulations to Prof. Rubin Landau, who has received a 2006 Undergraduate Computational Engineering and Sciences Award from the Krell Institute. Landau was recognized for publication of "A First Course in Scientific Computing: Symbolic, Graphic, and Numeric Modeling Using Maple, Java, Mathematica and Fortran90." This work introduces concepts of computational engineering and science using three programming paradigms, with examples from physics, math and other disciplines. The award was one of just three made in the nation.
